Whats the perfect ballerina foot?

  • i am a ballerina and i dont think i have the right shaped foot to become professional. my foot is flat and on the wide side, but my foot is kinda small i wear anywhere from a 5-7.

    A wide square foot with toes the same length is the optimal ballerina's foot- but it doesn't matter really. That's just an estimate. Anyone can be a good ballerina, even a professional. The size of the whole foot doesn't matter. Don't worry about your foot shape- what you should worry about is strenghtening your ankles and knees- that's the most important.

most ballerinas have arched feet that are quite small and can withstain LOTS of pain.

well if your foot is able to bend very well and you are to of course you can be a professional its not anything to do with feet and their shape i messed my foot up a long time ago cause i took acrobatics and everything so ibroke my toe in 3 differnt areas and it is all wacky looking so you can do it trust me i take ballet

The more toes you have that are approximately the same length - the better. If your three biggest toes on each foot are almost the same length (many women have this) it's a good thing. Short feet are a good thing as the weight of your body is being distributed over width, not length, of bone. I am not a professional dancer, but I did a lot of dancing in my youth and I did a lot of reading up on this very subject.

I think I would worry more about what kind of dancer I was than the shape of your foot...you have zero control over the shape of your foot.

dont worry about the size or wideth they make point shoes for people with wider feet so its ok, it all depends on your arch, you gotta have that amazing arch when you point your foot
