How to play sound directly into software recorder?

Problems learning to play the recorder.?

• I'm wanting to teach my self how to play music, I thought the recorder would be a good place to start. But I've ran in to a problem, I cant hold the recorder the way the book tells me to, I can't play it that way. I tried for 30 minutes to learn to play it this way & still couldn't get it to sound right. (and my right hand was starting it cramp) But If place my left hand on the bottom of the recorder & my right hand on top I can play fine & the notes sound right. The problem is that the two bottom groves (the ones that have two small holes in each) are placed to be used by the right hand. Some of the higher notes & the half notes require that you play with only the large hole covered is their a way around this. There are some things that I can only do left handed, like knitting or throwing a ball. I'm starting to think that playing the recorder is going to be a left handed thing. But if it requires learning to play it right handed I will try to. But its so much easier to play the recorder left handed. Any advise or tips will be appreciated Thank you for your time

  Just because the book shows it as right-handed doesn't mean you can only play the recorder right handed. It's just simple economics. The majority of the public are right handed thus the book is aimed at the highest proportion of people. You play it how you like, especially if it is easier. Just reverse whatever the book says (hand wise). Practice, practice, practice and you'll become good no matter how you play. May I ask why recorder though? Is it because of the price? I suggest learning something more useful such as the piano (keyboard), violin or guitar. Oh and if you go attempt to learn the guitar, there are also some left handed versions of them too (well at least there are left handed electric guitars - not so sure about acoustic).
