How practical is it to become a movie director?

it has always been my dream to become a movie director but i dont see it being very practical to make a living off of. im not tryin to get rich i would just love to make movies and have many people see them. i want to know what the best place to learn how to direct is and if it is a practical dream. also what is the process by which you work your way up to the top in this bussiness

I am also interested in film directing... But I'm too young to tell you how to get to the top. I found out that the BEST school for film directing is in Prague and it's called FAMU... I think that film directing, as a profession, isn't very practical to make a living of, unless you make commercial films. Because you see nowadays people don't enjoy GREAT movies, they enjoy just entertaining ones (hope you understand what I mean)
