What should I do for a talent show?

Not ready to perform at talent show!? What am I going to do?

• My friend was suppose to perform at my school's talent show with one of my other friends, but she ditched her, so she asked me If i would sing with her at the talent show, so I said sure, didn't think she was taking it seriously & I didn't want to hurt her feelings and say no. A month later and the talent show is coming up, she still remembers and picks out a song and everything, and sais that we have to practice. I'm scared to even sing infront of her! yet I have to perform in a large crowd! I'm not ready, I still need to work on this, how do I tell her I don't want to do this w/out hurting her feelings?She's going to be mad when I tell her this but I really am not ready for this.

  You have two courses of action. Do it or don't. Do it- She already had one friend flake on her. What kind of friend is that? You gave your word and should honor it. How would you like her to do the same to you? As for you being nervous.......well, that is completely understandable and normal. I've been a professional musician for over 25 years and still get nervous. Sometimes you just have to bite the bullet and go for it. You might surprise yourself. Don't do it- there is no cover story or excuse you can give that would be believable other than the truth. Tell her you lied, you really cant sing and that you thought there was no way she was actually going to go through with it. Any way you put it her feelings will be hurt. But if you're honest you will maintain your character and possibly your friendship. Put yourself in her shoes, how would you feel?
