Which flute brand should I buy?

What kind of flute should I buy?

  • I have played the flute for a little under 8 years. Mine was a Gemindhart, I liked it but I found that tuning it to A was difficult as teh manufacture said it would be. I have played Armstrong flutes and dislike their weight and key size, Yamaha are okay but I'm not a fan, I own a sweetheart fife and like them but my band director was not a fan of it, and I tried a French style flute (I forgot which brand) and liked it. I'm open to pretty much any kind of flute, but it has to be in key of C. I would like this flute to last for a while, my last flute was used and would be in good condition still if the percussionists did not drop it on concrete by accident. I would like to buy maybe a professional or contemporary flute, I've moved on from the student flute. So if any of you have an idea that would be great because I really need a new flute pronto!

  • Answer:

Hi Holly Get a King flute. You will be 100% satisfied. I dealt with these people for 15 years and they make a solid instrument and probably one of the best in the world. They even make a solid sterling silver flute (if you can afford it) and a solid sterling flue with 24 carat gold plating. Now, that flute has the snoothest and softest tone out of any flue manufactured by other companies. The silver and the gold is what gives the tone just like they make a solid silver bell saxophone and trumpet. They are the pioneers in that field.
