Is my guitar worth what i paid for it? Should I return it or is it just right?

I got a fender electric acoustic with a solid top. It fits well, but I only shopped for a day and visited 3 places. I like the sound, but its a little loud to sing to and has a twang that im not sure i like. The last e string shakes when i strum it but i think that's just how i kept it in terms of humidity. It was new and $299, but im questioning weather i got the right guitar. I have 5 days to return it and I am wondering if i should wait longer to get a guitar that is the perfect fit. Also, its new so I'm concerned about how well it will age, I really kind of wanted a used/ vintage guitar with a little wear, so it wouldn't look so expensive and shiny, and i would know the final sound as well. Im second guessing myself and I only learned how to hold any guitar comfterably at the end of the day. It's an acoustic electric but I'm starting to think just acoustic might make more sense. I am a beginner, but i did play a ukulele before having interest in a guitar :). If I return the guitar, i will have to shop around more and do the exact same thing, but with more experience and reference. I'm not sure it's worth the time. I'm pretty young and my parents would be paying half the cost. They aren't avalible to go shopping alot and im pretty sure that they might see this as frusterating and a waste of time. I don't think that my mom or dad have much guitar reference, and I'm really trying not to be bratty. A guitar is a really important choice, its a commitment and i just want to make sure I'm not sacrificing any quality by getting a cookie cutter factory made guitar, besides an older one that has been made by hand. Also, the older ones are cheaper, but they can have some issues. I just need some advice and reference on what to do. Its definately a really good guitar but i have to ask myself if it's good enough. Should I return it and wait longer or is it not worth the hastle? Is new OK or is used/ vintage a must? I could really use any advice right now, this has been eating at my nerves scince monday when i got the guitar. thank you so much!!

Answer:
What do you mean by "the last E string shakes"? Which E, and how is it "shaking"? Strings are supposed to vibrate when plucked. Do you mean it's buzzing during normal playing, when the guitar is correctly tuned? That would be a problem that merits a trip back to the store - normally, the store should put it right, but it might make a good excuse to return it. ;) For $300 you ARE going to get a "cookie cutter factory guitar", whether new or used, but it sounds like you would be happier with a different one. Yamaha makes some nice solid top acoustics in your price range. Also check out Takamine and Epiphone.

If you're getting fret buzz on the low E string then you should return the guitar and keep looking. Try playing some new Eastman acoustic guitars.
