What are good songs (that sound good on acoustic guitar) that are not too high?
-
Trying to expand my guitar song set. It can be simple or difficult (preferably a good middle ground). Every time I ask something like this, people post things like Dust in the Wind. They are great songs, but I am a guy and have gone through puberty. I need something a little lower that I can play on an acoustic guitar. Anything would be appreciated

I am an old fart so anything I know and like will be embarrassingly ancient for you so forgive me if I don't suggest any good acoustic songs. OK, I can't resist: 'Talking About a Revolution' by Tracy Chapman; 'Streets of London' by Ralph McTell; 'Don't Think Twice, It's All Right' by Bob Dylan ...that'll do. If a song is too high, why not simply play it in a different key? I have a repertoire of 100+ songs and rarely have any idea what key any of them should be in. Sometimes, I might play a song in one key and sometimes another, generally going for a higher key when playing to an audience. If it is inconvenient to simply use different chords and chord shapes (e.g. chords in the key of B flat) , then I might use a cappo together with more convenient/versatile chord shapes. I reckon if people want to hear the sound of the original, they'll play the original. If they want to hear my interpretation of a song, that's what they'll get.

im not sure what you mean by "too high", like you mean too far up the fret board? because dust in the wind is an awesome song and mostly defiantly isnt high up on the fret board haha..... And i also dont see how you going through puberty is relevant to like any of this sorry. Im a 16 year old girl so thats probably why... Um, well an easy song is 21 guns by greenday....

You can always change the key if it's too high for you. Free Fallin by Tom Petty is a great acoustic track.
