How can I make a career out of singing and music?
-
It's pretty much the only thing I have a passion for. That, and acting and writing. =]

Answer:
Sing every chance you get. Practice your art. You will have a better chance of making a living if you can accompany yourself on an instrument (bassits and drummers are usually in higher demand than say a guitarist or pianist). Singers are a dime a dozen, and they are usually prima donnas. By combining your 3 passions, your chances to make a living increase. If you write your own material, then you can market the product (your songs). Being on stage as a professional singer, acting ability will come in handy (it's all showbiz). You must also be willing to travel unless you live in a town with a thriving music scene (Nashville, NYC, Austin,LA).
