What should I wear for a drama play?

Should I be in this play I really dont want to do??

  • well im a 13 year old girl and the end of the school year is approaching. I am in drama class and for the end of drama class we were to do a play for around 50-100 people after school a few days before the end of the year. Then an offer came up to my drama teacher that we do it for the whole school on the last day!!!... I had no problem doing it for 50 people that i didnt know.... but now it was for 800 people i knew! i feel really uncomfortable doing this and i usally dont wear skirts and pantyhoes and stuff like that and of coarse my part has to!... im hoping to get out of doing this play, i talked to my drama teacher and she said "well just change your character up a bit so you feel more comfortable" She doesnt understand thats not the problem! I also e mailed my drama teacher and told her how i felt so im waiting for her to call me after class when i go to drama 6 period so i just want to know your opinions on what i should do before i just dont go to school on the last day.

    That must really suck. I think your drama teacher is a little excited about this and maybe what you're saying to her isn't getting through. Of course, there's probably not much you can do about it at this point, but you can still try. First come up with a time when you can have an uninterrupted talk. Plan out what you want to say, and do it directly. Don't beat around the bush. Tell her how you feel and try not to use words that can be interpreted other ways as she as done previously. Finally, explain your problem to her as best you can. Don't let her get distracted and be very serious about it. Good luck with this dilemma.

You can do it! Everyone is afraid of stuff like this. Your drama teacher wouldn't put you in an embarrassing situation. Don't cop out and let the rest of the class down by not going to school. It is not a one person show. Besides, it is the last day of school. Kids will not be paying attention. I bet many will tell you that you look pretty. Remember, it is acting. You are playing a part of someone else, not revealing something secretive about yourself. Good luck and I hope you stick to your commitment!

well this is really cliche and dumb but just concentrate on performing not the people. I've performed for my school before and thats how i get through it. Hope i helped. =]

you know what? I think you should do the play. If you don't you're gonna get mad at your self for not going through with it. your drama teacher is counting on you to be in the play. you can't back out now! I no your nerves but a good way to calm your nerves is to pretend that nobody is watching. you where cool with doing it in front of 50 people. In reality what is the difference between doing it in front of fifty and doing it in front of 800? There just people that are there to support you. I really hope you don't back out. It will be such a great experience if you don't. well I've said what I have to say but the choice is yours. Happy memorial day.

I have a little button that reads, "Every day do one thing that scares you." As you get older, you will have more and more difficult situations to deal with in life. The bolder you learn to be at a younger age, the more you will be able to deal with life's challenges and bravely conquer your fears when you are older. Plus, you might just find doing the play to be a rewarding experience. Isn't it worth it to hear, "You were really good!" from somebody you never met before? I think so.
