How do you play a high F sharp on the clarinet?

How can i play my high notes on a Bb clarinet?

  • Okay, i have a playing test in band and i need answers fast. I was gone for a funeral for a couple of days and i forgot my clarinet in my locker while i was gone now i got back i realized we had a playing test so all day ive been trying to learn my notes but i cant get my high B#, high C#, or high D ive tried over and over but when i do it comes out really really high much higher than it needs to be or i cant get any sound at all. please, please help

    Presuming you are using the correct fingering ,the throat is your answer. Try to open it by imagining you are yawning , take in just a bit more mouthpiece.. Don't blow so hard . The too high notes you are getting are overtones which will eventually add to your range when you control them.Try using them to practice your high notes . Like-----play a high d , then go for the upper harmonic--then back to d --thern the harmonic.etc. { by the way b# is c )
