Take song-writing, learn about this and that, and then you'll be able to pull from what you've learned to make better music, not only that, you could still make the same music you make now, just much faster. However, to get into something like that, you have to know someone first... It's all about networking... start to get to know anyone and everyone in the music business, weather you're in classical, opera, or a band... It's all about knowing people to do you favors.

The most important single asset you have going for you, is your ability and confidence in this direction. Now mind you, there is far much more that n that in the business. I played in a national famous band for over eight years, and everyday new BS was thrown our way. BE prepared to hire an experienced attorney, and well-know producer, and acquire press clippings. All the music industry cares a bout is sellabilty, so engage in guerrilla marketing techniques. Plaster restroom with stickers, place posters all over the wall. create an e-based mailing list and don't stop until everyone you know shows up at the gig. It's hard work but well Worth the effort. I mean, look at me, I used to play for crowds of 18,000 people, due largely to guerrilla marketing techniques. Keep you head up, and never let your dreams die.
