What is a good song to sing for a second soprano?

What is a good Broadway comedy song for a soprano to sing for a talent show?

  • It isn't a competition, just an open mic, and I've performed in every show with this group for three years straight. I've begun to run out of material. So far, I have performed "Popular" from Wicked, "Taylor the Latte Boy" by Kristen Chenoweth, "For Good" from Wicked, "Defying Gravity" from Wicked and "What Is This Feeling?" from Wicked. I am a first Soprano, and am good with peppy, bubbly songs, although they contrast with my personality. I'm looking for an upbeat number that will leave my audience rolling in the aisles, without need to dance, and I'd prefer no belting. Thanks!

I don't know how school appropriate it would be but you could do 'Dance Ten, Looks Three" from A Chorus Line. It's REALLY funny.

How about Hairspray,"You can't stop the beat." Depending on how you did it, it could be quite humorous. Especially, if the beat didn't stop when you wanted it to and you're trying to sing over it.

Maybe a song from Mamma Mia!
