Songs that show off wide voice ranges?

  • I love music and want to try out for a group of singers that are chosen but they must try out.My voice can go down to a very low C and a quite high B.I don't like to sing Carrie Underwood songs too much like So Small because I sometimes tend to sound like I'm screaming because I get so into the singing haha.So what are some good(not a big fan of very overplayed songs like No One by Alicia Keys) songs that show off wide voice ranges?Thanks everyone.

Although I generally agree with Over the Rainbow, I'd say a song by Nora Jones would be great. She has that sultry jazz voice that goes deep and throaty to the higher pitched non-screechy range. Plus her songs are really good and underrated.

The Star Spangled Banner you can do pretty much what you want to do with it. Other than that I'd say Panic! at the disco's stuff... he gets pretty high

Try this song, It sends chills down anyone...It should be a hit if someone would re-record it. Look on You Tube...Look up the movie "Phantom of the Paradise" the song from the movie only,,it called "Old Souls" It is sang by Jessica Harper. she did concerts with it but see the one from the movie. It is written by the brilliant song writer Paul Williams. I know it would fit your voice range.
