How do i get sponsors for a pageant?

• I am 10 years old and i am doing the National American Miss Pageant. I need sponsors by June 2008. I know that is a long time from now but i need to do this right away so i can have time to pick out the dress etc. I also want to do the Optional contests which is $50 each. My full Fee is $440 not including the clothes and contests (FYI the production outfit is $40!) I really want to do this so i need some help.   I love NAM! It's so fun!! ok include family, friends, small stores, companies, and any other establishments your family have been costumers at. Here are some ideas: Neighbors Your Dentist Your Doctor Nail Salons Hair Salons Local Restaurants Bakeries Law Offices (Attorneys) Banks Florists Tanning Salons Dance Studios Fast Food Restaurants Cleaners Furniture Stores Car Dealerships Boutiques Markets Local Radio Stations Etc. Don't ask for a specific amount. Just say any amount would be greatly appreciated. Not every business will give you a ton of money. Telling them to give you a certain amount will make them think it is either that amount or nothing. You know what I mean? Some will give you $50 other will give you $500. Some might even say no. So basically don't give them a set price. There is this new website where you make a profile and people can give you sponsorship money. You have to send emails to businesses that you think will give you money but the more professional way is to go to local business and pitch it basically. Wear your pageant interview suit. Here's what you should say kind of: My name is ------. I have been accepted as a state finalist in the National American Miss pageant. I am trying to raise the funds needed to attend this event. My goals in this pageant include ------. If I win the state title, I will go on to represent [State] in the national pageant. Your donations are tax-deductible as an advertising expense for business owners. Your company will also receive promotion in the state pageant program and I will be glad to participate in projects and attend other events. I can have as many or as few sponsors to reach my goal of $[how much you want/need]. Any assistance would greatly be appreciated.
