Does Drum Corps count for PE credits in high school?

I'm in high school and i want to join a drum corps group in the bay area (Santa Clara Vanguards, Blue Devils, Mandarin Scouts) but i'm not sure whether or not drum corps will count for PE credits in high school. I know a high school marching band counts for PE credits.

Drum corps does not count towards any academic credits, as it is not a school-sponsored activity. It's the Mandarins, no scouts, and SCV is singular (vanguard), not plural.
