How can I improve my range and tone quality?

Voice tone improving?

• I have a vocal coach. I'm 14 years old and understand my voice is still changing....I'm a tenor. I don't have the best tone.. it's not as resonant as I want it to be... I don't think it's recording artist quality... but it's DEFINITELY not "never going to improve". I'm pretty much committed to music and improving my voice. Will I ever be able to improve my voice and ahve that recording artist quality? I don't necessarily want to record music... but yeah. Will it ever improve? I have a vocal coach... she told me I had great intonation. Any tips to improve my tone besides practice? If I were to practice 2 hours a day 5 days a week... how long until I get a good tone? I'm looking for a pop-soul tone..I'm committed.

  Your great attitude will help you tremendously. You're young. Just keep at it. Put in the 2 hours man; 5 days a week just like you've said. Its going to improve, you'll see. Most 14 year olds get on here and post musical questions like "Can U Tell me how to git on amercan Idell?" without even the slightest notion of what music, the music business or artisitic integrity actually is. I'm impressed! You, my young friend, have a very solid foundation and you're doing the right thing! You want a pop-soul tone? Listen to as much of that as you can get your hands on. Listening is a key to improving yourself. Its not enough just to study; you also have to learn from the masters. Keep with your coach and keep at it!!
