How can a young teenager make money resonabley?
-
So here's the story. I'm fourteen years old and it's very hard to find a job at my age. I'm not just some money hungry little brat, I have asspirations and dreams. My goal is to go to Frenchwoods Festival of the Performing Arts Summer Camp for the summer of 2008. I do not come from a rich family. I have a single working mother and I have not seen or heard from my father since I was six. He says he has no money, but I know he's lying. Anyway. The point of this whole thing is for me to be able to pay for a good portion of my tuition. I need to know how I can get as much money as possible saved up by next summer. Please, please, please, this is so important to me. I know it's hard to make it as an actress but that's not the point. The point is this is something I really want to do and I just need help brainstorming. Thank you for your answeres, anybody that replies. -Kayy

At fourteen it very hard to make a lot of money. I'm assuming that your a girl, right ? Ok why not try and get a job this summer as a mother's helper, a lot of young mothers are looking for young girls to help with their children in the summer, play outside with them while she's doing housework, or hang up clothes for her, or help clean, do dishes etc. How about your mother does she want someone to clean the house for her in the summer, maybe even a grandmother, or neighbors. You could offer to walk dogs, or go to the store for the elderly. You could post these things in your local super market or laundry mart. You could even type papers for kids in summer school or collage. There's not much more that I can thing of because of your age, you can't have working papers until your sixteen. I hope that I've given you suggestions to think about. I'd also let people know exactly what your working towards, there aren't too many kids out there today that are willing to work for such a worthy cause, and maybe some good hearted soul will be willing to help. I would have said babysitting but I'm not to sure how many mothers would feel safe trusting a fourteen year old to babysit, not to many do today, unless it's one child and your very very mature. Good luck !!!!!!!

Baby-sit. You would not believe how much some people will pay. I get paid $10 an hour for this one family (only two kids.) You will make pretty good money. And depending on where you live, if you have a Chick-fil-a they hire at 15, so when you turn 15 you could apply. Also ask around neighbors if they need help doing odd jobs, i.e.: weeding gardens, cleaning attics, etc. Good luck with the acting and I hope it works out for you.

These really pay! Try this one: http://www.clixsense.com/?2134684......... This one you can "view" 30 second ads and get paid .01 to $1.00 for every one. I usually open them and continue what I'm doing...just keeping the window open until the 30 seconds are over. You can easily earn $30 or $40 a month or more. This one is called MyLot It's basically the same thing as Yahoo answers but you get paid for every question and response you put down. It only updates once every 24 hours (I find it's usually between 1am and 7am pacific time) so don't worry if you don't see your totals going up after every post. I think it's a better format than here. The longer the response, the more you get paid. http://www.mylot.com/?ref=amstardam........

I'm skeptical when it comes to paid surveys and 'get paid to complete offer' sites, but honestly many of them are legit and have enabled me to generate a great amount of extra money. On one site, you can find actual photos of checks people have gotten from the site. On my favorite site that I use, the total payment cashout reached six figures ($100,000) for the month of May!! The most important thing is to never get discouraged if you start out slow. Those $1-$5 surveys will add up over time, and doing them from more than one site at a time really increases your income. My first week using three of these survey sites, combined, I made over $60 dollars and never touched a credit card (including the offer completion ones), so they really do pay. Just go to my profile and you will find links to my favorites! PS: The survey panel thats hard to get onto is Pinecone Research because you have to find a flashing banner and click it to get to the sign up form, but if you can manage that, you get $5 per survey. Anyway try some of those links in my profile. They are free and easy to get started. P.S. I would recommend that you create an email account just for survey sites.

A really easy way to make money online is to join GPT sites. GPT sites pay you to take surveys and do free trials. The minimum age requirement for most of these sites is 13 - so that would be perfect for you. I remember when I first starting doing GPT's, I made about $70 within the first hour. (and then I was hooked =P) Here are 2 of my favorites: http://www.knightsfortune.com http://www.treasuretrooper.com/237872...... Or, just do a search on 'gpt site', and you will come up with a bunch. =)

Okay, Little-One-with-Big-Dreams... :-) Your revised question is how to design an ad/poster that tells people about your babysitting/Mother's Helper service. I know you're probably not too interested in the educational value of this by itself, but your poster (and your $ problem) is a good lesson in advertising... Put on your "thinking cap". Imagine that you're a mother (or, ask your Mom what she needed help with when you were younger. Step 1 is identifying the problem. What do Moms need help with? You (and your babysitting/helper business) is there to solve that problem. Step 2: Show how hiring you is going to help! Step 3: What are your qualifications? (I know, I know, you're 14 and this is probably your first job... but still...) Have you helped out you Mom? Any other relatives? Church or community help in the past? Those people (yes, even relatives) can be used as references. You can list such things on your poster as "References Available Upon Request". If you're artistic, you can draw an eye-catching little picture -- perhaps something like a Mom with eight overflowing arms, each arm filled with a baby or laundry basket or mop, broom, etc. Whatever it is, make sure it catches their eye. If you're not so artistic, make it look "professional". Simple, clear lettering that's easy to read. If you want to add another element of "tugging on the heart-strings", you could add, at the bottom of your poster, that "all proceeds/earnings go towards tuition at the Frenchwoods Festival of the Performing Arts Summer Camp, 2008" By the way, my circumstances growing up were similar to yours... I ended up getting a scholarship to the New England Conservatory of Music. Hard work pays off, and don't you ever give up, Little One. If you've got a dream, it's there for a reason. Go out and get it. Whatever you learn on the way there is meant to be. Keep up the good work!!!

Babysit for sure...you can earn up to 10 dollars an hour these days!

Does the summer camp you want to attend have scholarships? You should write or call and ask them. You should also talk to your school councilor and see if he/she knows of any scholarship money you can apply for. There are lots of organizations out there that supply money to kids in your situation. You sound like an industrious young person, and it's great you want to work hard, but check into scholarships as well. Good luck, and stick with your dreams!
