Is it normal for my violin strings to be out of tune after I re-set the bridge?
-
My bridge popped out last night when I was performing (yes, VERY disastrous) so I re-set it this morning. I'm fairly certain I did it correctly. I put the feet between the notches on the F holes and as close to the original grooves it had left on my instrument as I could get it. I asked someone at the music store how to do it and I followed their instructions. When I tuned my instrument again, it went out of tune really easily as if I had just restrung it. Is that normal?

Answer:
Yes. Very normal. If you are worried though take it to a music store or a teacher and they usually can do it for you.
