Whats the difference between 1 1/2, 2, and 2 1/2 reeds for alto sax?
-
I mean like there's all sorts of reeds and I don't get why people buy harder reeds like 3 or 4. Why not just use 1 1/2 since it's much easier? Is there a difference in tone or something? Thanks
-
Answer:
Yes, the tone is better and a harder reed will last longer, also some people will naturally have stronger muscles and more wind so a softer reed wont work well.
