Could any saxophone expert help me choose a sax?

Hi, can anybody help me with this saxophone's question?

• I've been playing alto saxophone since 6 months ago, but I've been always interested in the tenor sax, because of its deep sound and influenced by the admiration I feel about many tenor saxophone players (John Coltrane, Sonny Rollins, Hank Mobley, etc.). Now I have a chance to buy a tenor sax, and I have a buyer for my alto sax (i would like to keep it with me but it's not possible at home). I asked my saxophone teacher and he told me that there would not be problem if i switch to the tenor with the skills I've got as of now. But I was wondering: Do the scales i learned in alto sax will be useful or identical in the tenor sax? Do the embouchure I've developed would be useful in the tenor sax? What to do about the Real Book I bought, written in Eb? Or I will need to start all over again? Thanks
