What type of book is the Maze runner?

I just finished the hunger games trilogy and I was about to start the maze runner. So i was wondering what type of book was it? Like in the hunger games she is narrating and its not in 3rd person is the Maze runner like that or is it like someone els is narrating? I really don't know if that makes since but if you get it please tell me. Thank you:) Also my local library does not have the book till April 7th so can you suggest a book to read till then? Thank you again:)

The Maze Runner is a science fiction story told in first person by a boy names Thomas; the book is very good, but I know a better one- "The Pendragon Series" by D J MacHale! The first book is called "The Merchant of Death". The series is a combination of mystery, science fiction, and COMEDY!! The Maze Runner is high in mystery and sci-fi, but barely comedy. Pendragon FTW!

The Maze Runner is Dystopian, just like Hunger Games. It's in 3rd person and follows Thomas, who is forced to have all these horrible test run on him to find a cure for human kind.
