Write to Library Of Congress first to get them a copyright so no one steals them.

avoid poetry.com at all costs. this site will try and get money from you by promising to publish your work in there books and tell you even if your work is awful that it is the greatest thing they have ever read. try allpoetry.com this is a good place to share your work and recieve critique from other writers and a great place to make new friends whom share your love of poetry. its free and easy to get up and running.

first, before you do anything else, write them out by hand individually, and put them in an envelope addressed to yourself, and write your signature and the date you post it over the sticky part. then post it but when it comes to you, do not open it. then write it on one of the mailboards mentioned previously, for example myspace. then if anyone plagarises it, you have a copyrited version ready for prosecution!! happy days!!

There are several websites and blogs that allow this. Check out Yahoo! groups for instance. You may also want to look into your local newspaper. Sometimes, newspapers print poems in their editorial sections.

You can create your own blog free on Blogger. Just Google it. It's easy enough, you get guided through the process. Once you are up on things you can even put in photos and scan in art work. Then await the worlds verdict.

Be careful not to fall for the popular scam from a so-called publisher that prints a book with your "specially selected" poem, and then tries to sell it to you for $35-$75. I know it will feel good to have your poem "published" in a book, but is it really a book if it takes advantage of people?

I do not know how to help you and i do not want to discourage you but there a more poems written than people read. Poetry is a stress and/or emotional reliever. They basically are written to express yourself in how you feel at that moment. People only like to read poems when they are ripping them off for a party or gift.
