Does anyone know some good books for teenage girls?
-
I'm 15 years old and I'd like some good books to read over the summer. I'm pretty easy-going with the type...I like comedy, romance, tear jerkers, adventure, pretty much anything, although I'm not fond of horror. I'm an excellent reader so it can be a "higher-level" book. Some books that I've really liked recently include the Twilight books and My Sister's Keeper. There's probably more but I can't think right now! So does anyone know some good books, or good authors for me?

Answer:
Most Advanced Book I ever read.... Firefly Lane by Kristin Hannah for mature adults An epic exploration of the complicated terrain between best friends—one who chooses marriage and motherhood while the other opts for career and celebrity. The adventures of poor, ambitious Tully Hart and middle-class romantic Kate Mularkey begin in the 1970s, but don't really get moving until about halfway into the book, when Tully, who claws her way to the heights of broadcast journalism, discovers it's lonely at the top, and Katie, a stay-at-home Seattle housewife, forgets what it's like to be a rebellious teen. What holds the overlong narrative together is the appealing nature of Tully and Katie's devotion to one another even as they are repeatedly tested by jealousy and ambition. Katie's husband, Johnny, is smitten with Tully, and Tully, who is abandoned by her own booze-and-drug-addled mother, relishes the adoration from Katie's daughter, Marah. Hannah takes the easy way out with an over-the-top tear-jerker ending, though her upbeat message of the power of friendship and family will, for some readers, trump even the most contrived plot twists. Kissed By An Angel by Elizabeth Chandler♥♥♥♥♥ Ivy and Tristan have the love of a lifetime--until Tristan dies in a car accident. "Soulmates": Tristan must rescue Ivy, but if he does so his mission will be finished and he will have to leave his true love forever. Vampire Diaries by : L.J Smith♥♥♥♥ Elena: the golden girl, the leader, the one who can have any boy she wants. Stefan: brooding and mysterious, he seems to be the only one who can resist Elena, even as he struggles to protect her from the horrors that haunt his past. Damon: sexy, dangerous, and driven by an urge for revenge against Stefan, the brother who betrayed him. Determined to have Elena, he'd kill to possess her. The Uglies, Pretties, Specials, Extras Series by Scott Westerfield -Science fiction Set in the future where everyone born normal is considered Ugly until you turn sixteen and have a surgery to turn Pretty. There are complications to the surgery though, and Tally has to figure out a way of saving the people she loves from the dangers of the World. Maximum Ride by James Patterson(Really good)-. Max, 14, and her adopted family–Fang and Iggy, both 13, Nudge, 11, Gazzy, 8, and Angel, 6–were all created as experiments in a lab called the School. Jeb, a sympathetic scientist, helped them escape and, since then, they've been living on their own. The Erasers have orders to kill them so the world will never find out they exist. Max's old childhood friend, Ari, now an Eraser leader, tracks them down, kidnaps Angel, and transports her back to the School to live like a lab rat again. The youngsters are forced to use their special talents to rescue her as they attempt to learn about their pasts and their destinies. Marked ( Book 1) House of Night series by P.C. Cast & Kristin Cast -In 16-year-old Zoey Redbird's world, vampyres not only exist but are also tolerated by humans. Those whom the creatures "mark" as special enter the House of Night school where they will either become vampyres themselves, or, if their body rejects the change, die. To Zoey, being marked is truly a blessing, though she's scared at first. At the House of Night, Zoey finds true friendship, loyalty, and romance as well as mistrust and deception. Blood & Chocolate by Annette Curtis- Vivian is a teenage werewolf. When the moon is high, she feels the call to run wild in the woods, to feel the forest floor beneath her paws. But, when she moves into a new town, she meets a boy. A human. Her family disapproves but she is head over paws. With growing tension within her pack and her lack of control over her own abilities, she wonders if her boy will love her, or more importantly, if he will survive loving her. Jealously, isolation and competition within her extended family all threaten what tender happiness she tries to build. The Mediator by Meg Cabot-Susannah Simon is no ordinary girl, she can see and speak to the dead. Not that she’s happy about it; nobody wants ghosts popping into their bedroom every night. But when her mom remarries and Suze is forced to move to California she meets the perfect boy, there’s only one problem, he’s dead. Geek Charming by Robin Palmer♥♥♥♥ Dylan Shoenfield is the princess of L.A.’s posh Castle Heights High. She has the coolest boyfriend, the most popular friends, and a brand-new “it” bag that everyone covets. But when she accidentally tosses her bag into a fountain, this princess comes face-to-face with her own personal frog: selfprofessed film geek Josh Rosen. In return for rescuing Dylan’s bag, Josh convinces Dylan to let him film her for his documentary on high school popularity. Reluctantly, Dylan lets F-list Josh into her A-list world, and is shocked to realize that sometimes nerds can be pretty cool. But when Dylan’s so-called prince charming of a boyfriend dumps her flat, her life—and her social status— comes to a crashing halt. Can Dylan—with Josh’s help—pull the pieces together to create her own happily-ever-after? The Luxe by Anna Godbersen- A big, sumptuous tale of catty girls, dark secrets and windswept romance unfurls in this compulsively readable novel of late-19th-century New York City socialites. Godbersen weaves a tenuous web of deceit, backstabbing and pretense that follows four teens: Elizabeth Holland, a prim and proper lady of old-money society, is betrothed to one man, though furtively loves another; Henry Schoonmaker, a debauched playboy who must marry Elizabeth or be disinherited; Diana Holland, Elizabeth’s younger sister who is in love with her fiancé; and Penelope Hayes, a member of the nouveau riche who will stop at nothing to win Henry’s affections. Books: Sarah's Key by: Tatiana De Rosnay---A little girl named Sarah lives in Paris during WW2. The French Police come through France and round up all the Jews. Sarah's little brother has Sarah lock him in a hidden cupboard to keep him safe, thinking that she will be back later that day. But she isn't. Read the book to figure out what happens!!!! This is a really great book, it is one of my favorites. You would enjoy it. Handle With Care by Jodi Picoult---I have not read this yet, but a "sneak peak" was in the back of My Sister's Keeper. They are by the same author. But it sounds good. What I read in the sneak peak was about a woman, who was pregnant with her second. The baby has seven fractures when born, and is diagnosed with a brittle bone disease, and gets about 20 more fractures in her first hour of life. A Walk to Remember by Nicholas Sparks---Is very good and similar to My Sister's Keeper. Jamie and Landon fall in Love. Set in the 1958. Jamie is the ministers daughter. All I am giving away. Very good book. I nearly cried at the end. Authors: JK Rowling---my favorite author. Books: Harry Potter books, Tales of Beetle the Bard, Quidditch Through the Ages Margaret Peterson Haddix---a little more of a childish writer but amazing all the same. Double Identity, Shadow Children Series, The House on the Gulk, Just Ella, Palace of Mirrors, Found Jodi Picoult---Author of My Sister's Keeper and Handle With Care Tatiana De Rosnay---Sarah's Key Nicholas Sparks---A Walk to Remember, The Notebook, Dear John, The Wedding, and many more, just can't think of the titles Mitch Albom---The Five People you meet in Heaven, Tuesdays with Morrie
