How/where do I publish a poem online?

Can u please tell me where should I publish my poem online?

Be careful with poetry.com... they try to sell you crap NON STOP. It seems like every month im getting these "special invitiations" to poetry conventions which I only have to pay $200 plus hotel and transportation to go to. They will say your work is published... i dunno if it is or not. I have a bunch of stuff on there... some of it is good, most of it is random off the top of my head. And definitely not good. I joined that site when I was about your age, they will send you mail and all sorts of other stuff to try to get your money. The site itself is nice, it gives you a nice place to keep all your work (however you cant edit it after). Personally Im a fan of Deviantart.com its kind of like a myspace type of deal only it focuses on art. WARNING: a lot of the stuff on other peoples profiles can be graphic. But it is a good site if you want to keep and edit your writing, also if your into digital art, drawing or other forms of art you can upload them to the site.

You could try searching on Google for sites that let you sign up and put your poems. I would recommend using this site, with your parent's permission.

a friend of mine has a great site- www.concentricus.com. Check it out and see if the submissions are in synch with your poem. Good luck.

If you just want to get published online and don't want to get any awards, you can go to www.poetry.com - however, they will send you a lot of mail asking you to buy their books with your poetry in it. They are what's known as a vanity publisher. It is fun, though, to see your poem on the Internet, and they put a cute little border on it. I got a third place (one of about 80 third place winners) in one of their monthly contests once a few years ago, so it's hard to win any of the contests. You might do better to wait to get published in a school anthology, or even start your own.

I would recommend fictionpress.com. They allow you to publish your work on-line and then readers can leave you reviews. Most of the readers seem to at least try to help improve your writing, so it is good for a young author.
