How to become a book editor?
-
I love to read, and I have an eye for catching mistakes. So, I'd like to know how many years of college it requires to become a Copy Editor. Also, what exactly does a book editor do?
-
Answer:
A copy editor checks grammar, spelling, spacing, mixed definitions and printing errors in manuscripts while a book editor actually reads the manuscripts determining if the work is marketable and profitable for their company. Most book editors also work with the author to improve the work by catching continuity errors, erroneous wording, poor dialogue, pacing, vetting and in some cases fact checking. Look at book doctoring for a better definition.
