How to bargain from the shop keepers' point of view?

First person point of view vs. Third person point of view?

  • First person point of view or Third person? What is better to use between the two? Why? I will be writing my first novel and I need to know what point of view I am going to use. Your help is enough.

  • Answer:

It depends on the book, really. For me, I decide by using genre. I feel books in the fantasy/adventure/sci-fi/supernatural genre sound better in third person and books in the chick-lit/romance/realistic fiction genre sound better in first. Though, it could also vary with the plot too.... First and third person are actually pretty similar, if you look at it. I don't think a story would change THAT much if a writer chooses to write it in first over third, or vice versa, whereas the story could change drastically if one chose to write it in the omniscient POV...

Other answers

First person seems more personal and relates to the reader more than third person. Make the novel sound "believably normal" and not some exaggerated maudlin, Twilight-crap.

UnknownError

All the really successful novels are third person, generally speaking. Although there are some exceptions.

Third person. It makes it easier to tell the story because you can point out details you can't while using 1st person
