The Son of Neptune: Why do people think it's Percy Jackson?

  • I just thought of this, what if the son of Neptune wasn't Percy at all, what if it's a new Roman demigod and his father is Neptune and he's started the Roman camp and once he gets there he finds out from the other campers that they have another demigod held as a prisoner and the prisoner is Percy Jackson and something happens and Lupa has no choice but to let Percy go with this other son of Neptune and do a quest sounds crazy even to me, but we know Rick Riordan is the marster of plot twists

    People want it to be Percy because they liked him in the Percy Jackson and the Olympians, and want him to be back. Its like 50/50 chance it will be him. Heck, it could be Tyson. Did anyone think of that, he is a son of Neptune/Poesidon, and he might have been born in Poseidons Roman form, and no one knows. Or it could be anoher character we havent even might. I hope it is Percy though. I do not like Tyson. I guess people (including me) think it's Percy cause he's the only son of Neptune/Poseidon that we know of, although there was that sentence in The Last Olympian 'I suppose this means I can claim all those other sons and daughters of mine and send you some siblings next summer' that Poseidon said

I thought it was Percy. Until now that is. As he is in the Roman camp, there he would be known as the son of Neptune.But I like your idea too.We all know that the Big Three swore not to have any demigod kids but Zeus had not one but two kids during this time.So its also possible that Poseidon could have given birth to two kids, one Roman and one Greek.Remember how at the end of The Last Olympian, Poseidon jokes about sending his other kids to the camp, only Percy isn't sure if his dad is joking or not. May Riordan plans to introduce Percy's brother in the new series.

Cause Rick left it off with wanting to look for Percy. And Neptune=Poseidon. So... yeah... I mean, if Jason was the Roman version of son of Zeus, then Percy would be the Greek version of Neptune, so there you go. :D It all balances out.

Well for the reasons Ellen and everyone else said and then also Rick was doing a q&a thing and someone asked if it was going to be Percy and he wouldn't say yes or no and I'm sure he knows that everyone wants it to be Percy so if it wasn't Percy he might have said it wasn't him so we all wouldn't expect it to be him.

Rick Riordan has already mentioned that Son of Neptune refers to Percy. Even if Poseidon has another kid in the Roman Camp Half-Blood, the title of the book is about Percy.

its most likely percy...because alot of people want to know what percy did during jasons adventure... also...my friend told me that in one of rick riordans interview he said that the second book is in the same time period of jasons quest...which means its going to be about Percy! yyyaaaay.cant wait!...:P
