How to read and concentrate on reading my book? i'm getting tired of reading it over and over again, help?

okay, so... I only concentrate and remember stories like for reading, but when it comes to american nations or social studies books i don't really know whats happening or i can't really imagine it! Unlike the story books i remember it! Please helppp! How do i read this social studies book better? I'm tired of having to read it over and over again!! ): and what's wrong with me? Am i like dumb when it comes to social studies? D: and even when i am in a quiet place? Am sooooo weird... Please help...?
