When was the largest migration in or out of Iran?

Any info of Japanese migration to iran?

  • hi i am trying to research my grandmothers ancestry which i believe to be Japanese, my family are Persian(from Iran) and i was wondering if anyone could tell me if there was any migration of Japanese people to Iran in the past, maybe WW2 or before that?

Japan, until the last 50 years, has always been fairly insular. Other than wars with Korea and the Mongols, they didn't allow immigration from or two other nations prior to America forcing them to open their ports in the late 1800's. Even then, the only country that they did much business with was America. I have trouble seeing too many people leaving from Japan to go to Persia. It just doesn't fit.
