What modern military or political leader is similar to Odysseus?

What are odysseus' weaknesses and strengths as a leader?

  • ODYSSEUS IN THE BOOK "THE ODYSSEY" THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR EVERYONE'S HELP=]

  • Answer:

I assume that you have read The Odyssey. Odysseus is not a single-dimension heroic leader. He has weaknesses as well as strengths. STRENGTHS: Odysseus is a very clever, quick-witted, tricky man. He often gets himself into perilous situations, but he always figures out ways to escape from them. Although he makes many mistakes, Odysseus does try to learn from them. For example, after making so many mistakes on the Cyclops’ island, Odysseus is much more cautious on Circe’s island. When his foolhardiness brings death to his men, Odysseus is genuinely sorry. WEAKNESSES: His curiosity is always getting the better of him. As a result, he takes his men into dangerous situations that he could have avoided, if he had not been so curious and pointlessly daring. A glaring example is when he leads his men across to the island of Polyphemus, the Cyclops. He provokes the Cyclops, quite unnecessarily. This leads to the immediate deaths of some of his crew; and eventually, because of Polyphemus’ curse, to all of them perishing.
