Is this a good opening paragraph that explains my these: The Ottoman Empire was the most powerful empire in the world during the 16th and 17th century? The Ottoman Empire, also known in the West as the Turkish Empire, existed from AD 1299 to AD 1922. At the peek of its power during the 1500`s and 1600`s, the Ottoman Empire controlled much of southeastern Europe, the Middle East and North Africa. It was the most powerful state in the world both in wealth and military capability during the time period. The empire was at the direct center of interactions between the Eastern and Western worlds for six centuries. The Ottoman Empire was the most powerful empire in the world during the 16th and 17th century.
