most people will write about major wars. why not try writing about something else, like women's suffrage, the great depression, or a less popular war like 1812 or some sort. just do something different than everyone else and it will be more interesting because it wont be the same report over and over.

nooo, don't do the civil or revolutionary war! lol, everyone will do that. How about the lost colony of Roanoke? You know, the colony on Roanoke Island that disappeared without a trace? there's a lot of info out there on what could have happened. there are still no conclusive answers about what happened to the people on Roanoke... so it's an interesting topic and not as overdone
