What kind of topics did Oprah have?

Okay im writing about the Spanish American War how could i start my essay and what kind of topics could i use?

• I chose to write about the Spanish American War just because it seems interesting alot of it had to do with Texas and the other Western states. Im from Texas so it would be good to write about something that happend in my home state. I just dont know what kind of topics i could use ive never written a term paper and im not a fan of history either... it has to be a 5 page paper so im guessing i have alot of ground to cover i just dont know what type of things to talk about that would sound good all together.?

  Sorry to disillusion you, but the Spanish-American War had nothing to do with Texas or the western states. The war you are speaking about is the Mexican War. With any term or research paper you want to select a narrow topic. If whole books have been written on a particular topic, how much justice do you think you can give it in just 5 pages? So if you already chose the Spanish-American War you may which to focus on one battle, and then focus on one individual during that battle..... for example Teddy Roosevelt during the Battle of San Juan Hill. or Admiral Dewey during the Battle of Manila Bay. If you choose the Mexican War, you may wish to focus on Gen. Winfield Scott during the siege of Vera Cruz
