  The answer is definitely D. The whole reason for the Glorious Revolution was that the Stuarts had become too autocratic and had prescribed to the philosophy of the Divine Right of Kings. Many in the British nobility thought this was an overreach based on the traditions of the English Constitution. The Glorious Revolution established a constitutional monarchy in England. The joint monarchs of William and Mary were the first to no longer have absolute power. One the most major events with this revolution was the passing by Parliament of the English Bill of Rights which established many of the rights that are well-known to us in liberal society today (freedom to petition the government, freedom from standing armies, the need for the executive to have new taxes approved by the legislature, etc). The English Bill of Rights and Parliament's flouting of it in regards to taxing the American colonies is directly responsible for the American Revolution (no taxation without representation). It formed the legal basis on which the Continental Congress claimed that the King had violated their rights by allowing a foreign legislature tax them instead of their own legislatures.
