Fantasy Football Keeper Question?

Fantasy football keeper question. 10 team PPR H2H league?

  • I am keeping MJD, B. Jacobs, R. Wayne for sure. My other options are R. Grant, R. Bush, J. Cutler, B. Marshall, P. Burress, D. Clark. Obviously Burress has the most risk, but I figure he will be on a team so he is worth thinking about. Who should I choose for my last 2 keeper spots? Also, someone said they would trade draft picks like moving up from my 5th and 6th to his 3rd and 4th or something along those lines to get Jacobs. Would you trade the 2nd best player in Jacobs to get more picks towards the top of the draft? Thanks for your opinions.

  • Answer:

If D Clark is Dallas Clark and not Desmond, I'd keep him and Grant. If not, even though it's far from ideal, I'd keep Bush. With 10 teams and 5 keepers, you're trying to stay as close to the Top 50 as you can. I can see why Burress or Marshall is tempting, but there's way too much risk for such high picks even in a keeper league. And Cutler isn't even close to being a keeper QB. And I wouldn't do the trade. In a 10 team league, Jacobs is a good but not great anchor for your ground game. You can't afford to go lower than that.

I would keep Grant and Clark. I think I would do the Jacobs trade personally... you can get a lot of gems and Jacobs is an injury concern.

Don't be so sold on Burress. He played in 10 games last year and averaged 45 yards a game. Everyone pumps him up because he made the winning TD catch in the Super Bowl, but if you look at his stats, he is very average. I wouldn't hesitate to get rid of him if I were you, especially if he goes to a new team and has to learn a new offense. I don't know which Clark you are referring to at TE. Desmond Clark or Dallas Clark. If it is Dallas Clark definately keep him. If it were me, I would keep Ryan Grant. He will have a much better season this year.

I'm with her /\. Dallas Clark will be a top TE this year, so you should keep him. Since this is a PPR league I would also keep Marshall since he catches a ton of balls (102 in '07 and 104 in '08). I wouldn't worry that Cutler isn't there to throw to him. He'll still be Denver's top option. I would actually be between Marshall and Bush for the second spot. Bush missed 6 games last season and still had 52 receptions. That's only 11 receptions less than Forte had and he led all RB's in receptions. During Bush's first 2 years in the league he had 88 and 73 receptions, so you know he's capable of putting up big numbers if healthy.

Depending on who is out there at 3rd and 4th like a Michael Turner or MJD since you already have one of them you are good. I would stick there where you are, the dropoff is not significant enough to give up Jacobs. 2nd I would keep Marshall, Clark and Grant and you would keep Bush if you are in a PPR league. If you keep Burress your chances are high to get burned.
