How To Play Just The Way You Are?

I'm new to fantasy baseball, how 's the easiest way to play?

  • I'm a novice to fantasy baseball. How's the easiest way to play it? I know there's a rottesiree league and points league and head to head league. Is there imaginary $ to spend or are they real $ you have to spend? Can you just select the all stars for all your positions. Do you have to fill a whole league of players or can you just field one team? Which way is the least amount of time you have to commit too? Any advice is appreciated!

  • Answer:

    1. Play Yahoo! fantasy baseball. Its the easist one out of the major games. 2. No such thing as imaginary $. Any money you need to spend on a league, you spend out of your pocket. Those are the plus leagues. Its 24.99 for a team, and 124.99 for a league 3. You get to chose between an autopick draft or a live draft. The autopick one will have the computer chose your guys for you. You can set a Pre-draft rankings to your likings and they will draft as close to that as they can. The live draft means you have complete control over your team/draft and you can chose whoever you want that's ava. 4. You yourself have 1 team in a league of 10/12 or how many ever teams are in that league. You are only responsible for that one team in the league. 5. Least amount of time? None really. Once your team gets drafted you can chose to be one of those managers everybody hates. That one who just gets his team and then leaves it for nothing. He doesn't change his players, pick up or drop guys, and doesn't make trade. Then you can be a middle one which does a bit of that, and does check the league a couple times a week. Then you can be a guy like me who checks his team each day and manages to take care of his team. Makes trades, watches ESPN and reads notes about each player. Its really your choice on who you want to be. Good luck!!

Wow, Joey B's not a fan of the fantasy sports, huh? Anyway, If you're interested in playing a fantasy sport with little time to invest, I'd wait for fantasy football. Baseball is the one fantasy game that actually rewards people who check-in every single day. But if you're looking at a intro to FB, Mlb.com has a points based game that easy to understand/play (though it's not one of my favorites) If ytou sign up on yahoo, you will have to play in a league with 5-15 more players. You don't need to find those folks though. Just have yahoo assign you to a public league.

autodraft 8-12 team league get to know the players as you go and have some fantasy fun it can be as casual or intense as you want to make it but make sure of one thing... if you start with a league you finish with the league... there are enough abandoned teams along our fantasy highways and we don't need another. good luck join a yahoo custom league and read the description... ie., experts only.... or just for fun... or active mgrs only..

It's easy. Turn your computer off, leave your mom's basement for the first time in two years, venture out into that thing they call "Sunlight", get a baseball and a glove, and try throwing it to one of those things you haven't had since you were 11, you know, a FRIEND.

MLB.com features a really easy fantasy league called MLB Fantasy Open '08. You choose a pitching staff, rather than individual pitchers, so you don't have to know a lot of strategy. It's free too. The downside is that you can't make any trades. But it seems as if you don't want to spend a lot of time on your fantasy team, so this might not be a problem.

Yahoo and ESPN offer some easy fantasy play. You have the option of playing for free or paying to be in a prize eligible league. You field your team through a drafting process so, the all-star only team that you speak would be tough to do unless you draft with a bunch of idiots or in a tiny league. I suggest you go to ESPN and partake in several mock drafts. This will allow you to get an idea of where players are being drafted and how the live draft process works without actually fielding a team. Most FB providers allow you to set your starting line-ups weeks and weeks ahead of time so other than dealing w/ injuries on your team, minimal time is required. Of course minimal time spent can often times lead to minimal season end standings.
