Which QB should I pick up for fantasy?

For fantasy, I have Jon Kitna as my backup QB however his fantasy numbers are horrible, who should I pick up?

  • Chad Pennington David Garrard Jason Campbell Matt Schaub Damon Huard Vinny Testaverde ......or do I just stick with Kitna as the QB (plays against the bears this week) who will start because Romo is my starter who has a bye this week?

  • Answer:

david garrard. he has been really consistent and has yet to have a break out game which he is due for.

I think Pennington plays the bills I would pick him up, I would take Garrad 2nd.

David Garrard. Jason Campbell. Those players are the best on the list. Garrard has put up great fantasy numbers and the Jags are in most games. Campbell has been doing well, but Santana Moss and Antwaan Randel El (his receivers) have been struggling with injuries and Washington is a run-first defense. Testaverde should be monitored, but defenses should figure him out soon. Pennington may be replaced soon. Schaub left the game Sunday with an injury. Huard has been playing better, but the Chiefs don't have an explosive offense.

I wouldn't say Kitna has been horrible... I'd still think he'd be top 10 in fantasy QBs. But I wouldn't start him this week against Chi, although Chi's defense hasn't been as solid as it probably should be. Uhhh, the only QB on that list that I'd take over Kitna is probably Garrard. He's thrown no interceptions yet... and has a steady passing percentage of around 70%. He'll give you decent rushing numbers as well (for a QB, of course). But I'd definitely choose between Kitna and Garrard; probably Garrard for next week.

Don't drop Kitna for any one on of those players. It wouldn't be hard to trade him if you so chose. Even if you don't like him against the Bears his trade value is still considerable and you'd be laughed at by the other owners. I know that I would.

Well, Huard is on a bye. Testaverde isn't guarenteed to start. Schaub got hurt last game and isn't for certain this weekend. That leaves Penn, Garrard, and Campbell. And all play staunch defenses(Buff, @TB, and @NE) as does JK. JK has the most upside of any of the qbs down the stretch, and with Romo as your guy, you won't need a backup after this weekend barring injury. Stick with JK as the Bears secondary is depleted. Now, after this week, look at your b/u qb this way, with the numbers of qbs on the f.a. market and you torn over them drop JK and they all become your b/u, as one of them will certainly be there if an injury does happen to Romo. That frees up a roster spot for you to take a flyer on someone else. Say, a b/u running back like Michael Turner, Adrian Peterson(Bears,) Kenton Keith, etc. If the owner of one of those 1 backs go down, you have excellent bait.
