Should I trade Al Jefferson and Jose Caalderon for Amare Stoudemire?

  • Calderon has been the man thus far and Al Jefferson is a tad bit less value than amateur. As the season plays out would I be better with Amateur or Al Jeff.?? And what about Calderon

    If you were offered this trade you should counter with a deal more in your favor.. Amare isn't that much better then Al.Amare is rated very high because of his past performances,and he is now a player beyond his prime playing years & is a 2nd,or 3rd option in the Knicks offense. Melo is the man in NY.I'd definitely want compensation for Calderon. Jefferson hasn't been 100% healthy,I'd probably wait to see if he turns things around..Then sell him at a higher price.You should never trade players when they are struggling,especially ones that have proven track records of high production. I just really don't like Amare in fantasy this year without a pg like Nash feeding him the rock,and players like Melo & Chandler cutting into his touches..And,remember that Calderon was a perennial top 25 fantasy pick just a few seasons ago.

No. Bad trade. Amare has not been doing that great in fantasy this year. One can make the argument that Al Jefferson is doing better. Al has a better FT%, FG%, more rebounds, more assists, and 1 more block compared to Amare. All this while playing less minutes than Stoudemire. Not only that but Calderon is playing really really well this year. So your giving up 1 player that is really shining and another player who is above average for a player who is above average. The person proposing the trade is smart though. Hes trying to trade you a player for a better deal and sell you his name instead of his actual stats in hoping you will bite. That's like going to Starucks and getting a $5 coffee. No mater how flashy and the brand name, at the end of the day..its coffee. That logic applies here...no matter how famous Amare is and his reputation, hes only playing an above average game thus far this year.
