How do you mitigate the inherent risk of a one-person team?

Rate my team , as I see it , it's high risk high rewards?

  • My team consists of Alex Smith and Jake Delhomme at QB L Tomlinson and Steve Jackson at RB Santana Moss & Vincent Jackson at WR Chester Taylor as my WR/RB/TE Heath Miller as my TE Robbie Gould as my K Denver as my DEF I also have a bench that consists of McNair ,Sammy Morris Chris Brown Marty Booker,Derrick Mason & Minn on DEF The league is auction draft where u had to spend 200$ on 16 players and I figured that by stealing away the consensus best 2 RB's I weaken all the other 7 teams , any thoughts

You're right, you took a very risky approach. Your team will win the championship if LT repeats or comes close to repeating last year and if Steven Jackson performs as expected (the 2nd best fantasy player). However, if LT and Steven Jackson barely are the 2 best players, I can still see you winning at least half of your games and making the playoffs, but your gonna need them both to have career years to win it all. As you know, Smith or Delhomme both could turn into top 10 QBS, Santana Moss is good and Vincent Jackson a sleeper, Chester Taylor is pretty good and your TE K DEF is solid. Good luck!

well in a 10 team league you get a 10... in the RB category other than that you get a 6.56789

With the top two running backs in the league and solid rest of the team you should do very well this year.

I'd want a little better WR than Vincent Jackson, but he's definitely fine as well. Your two solid RB's should carry you throughout the season anyway.

You're going to be able to beat a lot of teams just by the strength of your two running backs alone...they'll be able to cover a lot of inconsistencies, but if either of them gets hurt you're a dead man... Here's my take on the rest Qbs...not great, but not terrible. Both have a lot more upside this year than last, so you got a good value for the $. McNair is not going to have a good year...trade bait perhaps... Rbs...other than your big 2...morris might get a few looks on the goal line, but not much value. Chris Brown could get some good looks, but ultimately he'll be a backup all year. I'd try to trade chester while his value is high...adrian peterson is about to explode... Wrs...Moss is nice...mid-level, but nice...Jackson will put up bigger than expected numbers this year, especially tds...but he'll get a lot of double teams with parker dinged up all the time. He's a monster on the goal line with his size, but then again that's why they have Gates so...Booker is Booker...Mason is underrated, but not great... K...Gould is solid... Denver D might get overshadowed by MN...they're a top 10 D that is getting turnovers all over the place... Good luck man...I'd try to secure michael turner or brian leonard (or both) and mabe look to shop chester taylor for a soldi WR ...or...try to pick up somebody like gonzalez in indy...

Obviously RB is real strong and that will really bolster your team....WR core is pretty weak with no real stand out, but I think JAckson will have a good year b/c of the lack of team receiver depth. Supposedly Sammy Morris will be getting a high amount of red zone and 3rd down carries....Could be a HUGE Steal for you...If he produces along with LT and Jackson you will take 1st without a problem.

I dont know how that league let one team get LT and Jackson. But the rest of your team is very weak. Id probably start Delhomme because the Panthers have the weakest schedule against the pass and Smith is still a couple years away from being a solid fantasy player. Santana Moss isnt bad but but his QB brings him down somewhat. Vincent Jackson could be a sleeper but hes unproven. Your TE is really weak, K might be good with Grossman at QB, the Bears might have trouble finishing off drives. Denver D will be a very good D this year. And from top to bottom your bench is pretty weak. Even in a point per reception league(if thats what your in) you dont have a good team. Scale of 1-10, even with LT and Jackson, Ill give you a 7.
