What you think about Spain-Portugal match?

What do you think about the Nadal v. Federer match on mixed surfaces?

  • Roger Federer, the king of grass, and Rafael Nadal, the king of clay, will be playing a match on a specially made tennis court that will be half clay and half grass. What do you think about this? I think it is going to be really interesting, and I hope they will show the match on TV. http://sports.yahoo.com/ten/news;_ylt=Ak7G4uR3oc89mxsnR8K2iBc4v7YF?slug=ap-federer-nadal&prov=ap&type=lgns

  • Answer:

A fantasitic idea, if you ask me. They've been responsible for bringing in a lot of interest and fans of the sport and this mixed surface game is going to add to that! This is one game where it doesn't matter too much who wins but how the whole game plays out. Kudos and my saute to the sport's numbers 1 & 2 to venturing into something as different as this!

I predict that Federer is going to lose. Yes, shoot me now. If you think about it, Nadal is the king of clay and Federer is the king of grass. Federer can't beat Nadal on clay, and vice versa. Nadal got to the Wimbledon finals, and Federer got to the French Open finals. Federer lost to Nadal (clay), Nadal lost to Federer (grass). When Federer hits the ball, it will slow down because of the clay. When Nadal hits the ball, it will skid because of the grass. They're both used to receiving balls on their surfaces and won't have to change their grips because of that. We'll see what happens :)

i think it's going to be awesome. the winner will either be the one who wants it the most, and the one who can ajust there strategy for the court. hopefully they show it on tv! this is going to be big for tennis fans.

Q

After I heard about that, I couldn't even believe someone hadn't thought about creating a tennis court like that before! It's such a great idea...that ball will be flying and spinning in all kinds of crazy directions...I really can't wait to see who will win. I'm gonna lean on the side of Federer JUST because he obviously dominates grass at the moment, and he's obviously very good in clay (good enough to reach the French Open final anyways), so he's got both sides going for him. Although Nadal is excellent in clay and he's gotten to the Wimbledon final, I think Federer's clay might be better than Nadal's grass. Of course, Nadal's got the home court advantage, so we'll see!
