Who was Roland Garros?

Who has the toughest road to the Roland Garros Finale (ATP)?

  • So the draw is finally out, and here's what we got Quarter number one is pretty easy for Rafa, I mean the biggest match just may be a third round vs Lleyton Hewitt. He also has David Ferrer, Soderling, and Fredrico Gil, who may surprise Ferrer in the 1st round. Next section has wounded Davydenko, Capdeville (who is growing on me), Wawrinka and Verdasco. My thought is a Wawrinka vs Nadal . quarter Next section is Murray's (which means no Djokovic Nadal semi!!), and a bunch of no names. The hardest ones are Tipserevic, GASTON GAUDIO, and Cilic. Murray should make it, if Gaudio doesn't pull a Dokic. Next section is, the home of Simon. Other mentionable players are Safin, Gonzo, and Gilles Muller. Hopefully a Gilles can make it to the quarter.. Bottom of the draw: Starting with Del Potro, who could have a 4th round appearance with Tsonga! We also have Troicki, Marcos Baghdatis, and Arnaud Clement! Next section is Djokovic's. It has Fish and Robredo. Lubjcic is there, as is Aussie Tomic. Roddick is up next, he has ailing Monfils, Schuttler, and Melzer. Expect a no name to make it through, seeing that Roddick's never made it past the 3rd round here! Next is Federer's, and unfortunately for me, James Blake! Also has Chardy, Berdych, Mathieu and healed Ginepri Who has the toughest way!?

  • Answer:

Okay, Nadal's draw is not a piece of cake, for there are the likes of Davydenko (who has given him interesting matches on clay), Verdasco (who is playing well and getting better and IMO is the most fit of the players), and Ferrer who is always good on clay. I won't be surprised to see a Verdasco/Nadal quarter. Murray's quarter has Cilic, Youzhny, Safin, Simon, but I expect a Murray/Gonzalez match with Gonzalez winning. This may turn out to be the toughest quarter (for Murray, not necessarily the other 3 top 4). I expect Monaco to be a dark horse, with early upsets from Baghdatis to Del Potro and eventually be beaten by Djokovic. I actually see Federer as having the easiest draw because the folks who might give him trouble (Berdych, Roddick) would fare better on hard courts and even Monfils should not be a problem. Order of difficulty: Murray, Nadal, Djokovic, Federer. I do think Roddick might do well and make the quarter against Federer with Fed the victor. That would mean Nadal/Gonzalez and Djokovic/Federer as the semis. My prediction is Nadal/Djokovic final, with Nadal winning in 3 tough straight sets. GO RAFA!!!!!

Rafa... i think that it's gonna be really hard to play against Ferrer,Verdasco... i am not sure that Rafa will win the FO this year

I honestly think Rafa does cause he has a lot of clay court experts on his side :( I'm not too worried though cause Ferrer has went a little bit off course this year and Verdasco's game is a bit more suited to hard court so hopefully Rafa shouldn't have such a tough time of it lol. I'm just thankful Djokovic isn't in Rafa's half haha :P He was on fire in Madrid !! lol Federer has a totally easy draw apart from the possible semi with Novak !

Adoro a Rafa ♥

I honestly think Rafa has the hardest draw, but I still expect to see him in the final. Karlovic can be an early test (Hewitt has never figured him out since losing to him as the defending Wimbledon champion) in the third round. In the 4th round he'll probably see Ferrer, who is a good clay-court player. I think he'll face another one of his countrymen in Verdasco in the quarterfinal. I think Gonzo the cheater will come out of Murray's quarter, as Simon tends to disappoint at his home tournament. Murray has improved on clay but I just don't see him making the semis. Đokovic has an interesting first round matchup with Lapentti, probably Robredo in the fourth round, and Tsonga or Del Potro in the quarterfinal. Though clay is not his strong suit, I think Tsonga will the most successful Frenchman this year. Federer has the easiest draw by far. Why does Roddick always seem to end up near Federer? He's become Federer's personal pigeon by now. Henri-Mathieu is a decent player, but I don't see him troubling Federer. Blake is there too, but he'll have to make it through Haas and maybe Chardy. Monfils could have made things interesting but unfortunately he's injured. Berdych is dangerous but too inconsistent to take Federer out. Quarterfinal prediction Nadal vs. Verdasco Murray vs. Gonzalez Del Potro vs. Đokovic Melzer vs. Federer

Rafa duh! Federer has an easy draw. I expect Federer in the final to be honest. Djokovic usually gets tired after just playing 3 or 4 hours with Rafa or Roger no matter if it is a best of 3 sets or a best of 5 sets because they make his legs work harder than the other. Seeing that is the case, Novak will have "medical problems" against Federer like usual hahaha, and Roger will pass in 4 sets. Djokovic won against Federer once in a best of 5 sets (yeah right! in my dreams, because Federer had mono in Australia 2008 - so that match doesn't really count.) If you look at the stats, whenever Novak meets Rafa in a best of 5 set match, Novak gets pumeled easily - same goes when he plays Roger 99% of the time. I mean, Novak won't have let's say an amazing workout before the semis and beat Roger the next day. It takes time to get fit. Federer is more fit than Novak. He can stay longer in a 5 set match than Djokovic facing Nadal. Look up the stats if you don't believe me. Edit: Everyone who says that Rafa will face Novak in the final, keep on dreaming. I give Federer a 75% chance to Djokovic 25% to make the final. I mean, sure the Djoker is getting ore fit no doubt, but I still think he'll fall short when he faces Roger. Get back with me when Roger is in the final lol hahaha He'll lose to Rafa again unfortunately, but obviously not the same way as last year's final. This time, it will be a close 5 set match this time.

Hail Immortal King Roger Federer
