Why is Toronto Masters called Rogers Masters?

Are the Toronto Masters played on the same type of hardcourt as the Cincy Masters?

  • Its just I know there are 2 types of hard court; Rebound Ace and another so I was just wondering which is used for each Masters Tourny.

  • Answer:

Yes, it's a hard court,Toronto has more bouce and is a bit slower than the Cincy court which has less bounce and it tends to be faster than other hard courts due to I would say mostly weather conditions. Remember since it is a US Open Series, they are going to use the same type of court used at the Open.

They are different. Toronto is slower, and that's what Federer was complaining about. He said he got very few aces because the ball wouldn't go through the court. Cincinnati is different. It is faster and the ball moves through the court more of course suiting to Federer's game. I'm not sure which one is rebound ace, but I'm guessing it's Toronto because the Australian Open is rebound ace because it's slower than the US Open.

They're both played on Deco Turf which is closest to the courts of the US Open and actually also the same type of courts that will be used in the Olympics. Deco Turf causes the ball to slow down just a little bit and it has a slightly lower bounce. It's an ideal court for serve and volley players favoring Karlovic, Stephanek, and Federer.

Yes. They are both played on deco turf hard court surface just like what they use at the US Open and the Olympics.

Cinncy courts are FAST! FINALLY!!! SPEED!!! But it gets humid, which slows the balls doawn. Cinncy rocks!
