Tennis challenge rule?

How does "tennis challenge" work??

  • as title, when I was watching tennis on the TV. sometimes there were player asked a challenge and then the TV will replay a "simulate" image Does anybody know how the challenge work??(How the simulate working) thanks!

  • Answer:

A player is allowed to make a certain number of challenges on line calls that they believe to be questionable. Once a challenge has been made, the Shot Spot/Hawkeye Simulation shall be displayed. Shot Spot/Hawkeye works with many cameras in the air that take many pictures of the ball as it travels through the air. I believe Shot Spot/Hawkeye is 99% accurate. Anyway, if the player who challenged is correct, the point goes to the winner of the point according to the challenge. If the player who challenged is incorrect, they lost a challenge and nothing is done to modify the previous call.

Other answers

A player is allowed two challenge calls per set. If he feels a ball was called incorrectly he/she tells the chair umpire that they wish to challenge the call. If they are correct and the call is reversed they are still allowed to challenge twice during that set. If they challenge a call and are wrong they lose one of their challenges. If they should challenge twice during a set and lose on both calls (call stands). They are not allowed to challenge any more calls until the next set begins.
