Get a good instructor and have them get you going from the very start. That way you don't form any bad habits.

Just try hitting the ball, maybe get some lessons or play with some friends who can play tennis! Should help. Tennis is a great sport to play! Good for you!

Tennis is great, and will not require as much stamina as cross country. Just go out to a court with some friends and just hit it around. Try and get some friends to teach you scoring if you don't know. Good luck!

I have been playing tennis for many years. They best thing I did was to take a junior clinic at a local tennis club. They all offer them during school breaks and in the summer. It is important to learn the right grip and technique from the beginning since old habits will be hard to break. Spend the money and time to get into a local clinic. You will be glad you did. Good Luck Tony

The first thing you gotta do is find a friend who is a good tennis player and or align yourself with a good tennis player, then find a hitting buddy, go out to your school courts when you can or an indoor facility and just hit around and let your hitting partner give your tips and what have you. Then ease yourself into some extended match play, work your serve out.....flat first serve, big spin second serve......find your best area, backhand, forehand, net, baseline whatever your most comfortable at. Work that area till you feel good in it. Then start to play competetivly and play for your school team. Good luck.
