Ways to improve a youth football program?

• I am a coordinator for a youth Flag Football program (Ages 4-10) and was wondering what ways other people may improved their program and/or if they found ways to get parents and families more involved. Last year we had 170 kids (boys and girls) sign up We have 3 different Leagues (Pre-K & K) (1st & 2nd) (3rd & 4th) We offer concessions We sell raffle tickets with 40 chances to win We have a Facebook page We don't charge admission to watch the games Are there maybe ways to offer "best seats on the field" raffles or anything else that may help parents and fans get more involved than just watching and cheering? What do your sports programs do that you really like?

  It's tough to get parents more involved in that particular age group more than simply attending all of the games (regardless of the sport). It looks like you do pretty much everything you could for the kids and parents. The only other thing you might be able to do, depending on your location, is reach out to any professional or college teams and see if you can arrange for players or coaches to come out and talk to the kids and parents about the game and the positive impact it has had on them. Some of the older kids would probably like it, but it would really get word circulating among the parents and could have a positive impact on attendance and involvement. It could also provide an avenue for acquiring tickets to their games either for your raffle or as a reward to the people who get the most involved in helping your program.
