Why is it so bad to be a fan of a football team but your favorite player is on another team?

Why is it so bad to just enjoy watching another player play even if he's not on your team. Doesn't mean I'm bandwagoning on that team or anything like I just like to watch him play. Why are some of these football fans so harsh nowadays and why do they care what other fans think or how they watch football so much. Doesn't mean I'm bailing out on my team because I respect the talents of other athletes....

A good percentage of fans, of any sport, will do this. They try to make themselves seem as if THEY are the ultimate fan because they support their team and team players unconditionally. They have their personal beliefs as to what a fan/true fan/bandwagon fan is, and they expect others to have the same perspective of things as they do.

My favorite player is on my team, but lets say you favorite player was Larry Fitzgerald and your team was the Redskins. You're still a Redskins fan as long as you dont claim to be a Cards fan, then it doesnt matter who your favorite player is. So ignore those stupid fans, they are probably the bandwagoners who are trying to act like that they are real fans. A favorite team and fave player is 2 different things. You are a real fan as long as you stick to your team.
