Wizards or Warriors: Which team's investment yield the most risk?
-
Which team faces a more difficult crisis? The Warriors signing Monta Ellis for 66 million over 6 years and losing him to surgery for at least 3 months. or The Wizards signing Arenas for 111 million over 6 years and losing him to another surgery for at least a month? Let's not forget that the Warriors also went after Arenas this summer, which meant we could have been in the same boat as the Wizards. So in your opinion, which investment looks the most risky at this point for either team?

Answer:
Hmm. Both are score first PG's drafted by the Warriors in the 2nd round. I'm not an expert on their injuries, so it's hard to answer. Gilbert was hurt much of last season, and now he is on the DL once again. Monta had some knee problems in HS, but has been fine since. From what I've heard, he should be 100% when he comes back, which is good news. I think Arenas is the better player at this point. He scores more and is a better leader. But, 6 yr/$111M? That is pretty steep. And that is after he took a pay cut. I think Monta is a great player, but still has some things to prove. Such as, can he play the point? And can he lead a team? That being said I think the Ellis contract is A LOT less risky. $11 M per is not much these days for a good player. The Wizards have much more to lose. I am risk averse, so I think I would rather add Ellis to my portfolio.

uh ellis cuz we know gil can play...i mean dont get me wrong ellies can play too but gil is an all star... and wiz have anther two all star...and gil was out for a the whole regualr season last year and wiz still made the playoff...where warriors didnt made the play with monta and baron...so i think warriors look risky to me.

Gilbert Arenas. Arenas - been an injury prone player for quite a while now and in the summer, he was given $111 million dollars for a 6 year contract. Who knows, he could injure it again EASILY and is getting pretty old. Ellis - young 22 year old guard who can play ball. He's been given a 6 year $66 million dollar contract for his outstanding season especially @ his age. But, this summer he got injuried and is out for 3 months minimum. To me, he has a better chance of coming back sooner than Arenas. If he misses about 2 more weeks than Arenas, so what the Warriors basically paid half of what the Wizards paid.

Both teams.... -Warriors : the M-Ellis injury and the questionable chemistry. -Wizards : the "Agent Zero" injury and the problem to be healthy all season long. --------------------------------------…
