Who is the best player in the NBA?

Best NBA player who never played in the Finals?

  • The question of who's the best player who never won an NBA title has been asked many times... And people will name guys like Elgin Baylor, Charles Barkley, Patrick Ewing, Karl Malone, John Stockton etc. But all of those guys made it to the finals at least once, even though they lost the finals when they got there. So who, in your opinion, is the best player in NBA history never to have played in an NBA final? This could require some thought, although I have a pretty good idea of who I'd say it was. If you want to list an active player, the guy has to have played at least 10 years in the NBA. What do you think?

    Dominique Wilkins and Alex English, as has been mentioned above. I would add George Gervin, Bernard King, Bob Lanier, Dan Issel and Artis Gilmore (not the best ever, but pretty damn good). I don't know where James got his info, but Dominique (10th) and Iceman Gervin (30th) are both in the top 30 of all-time scorers.

Damn...half of you didn't even read the question...WTF? Dominique Wilkins, Steve Nash and I believe George Gervin has never been to the finals. If I'm right, I'd have to place Gervin # 1 on that list.
