How do I promote myself and business without pushing myself on people?

For the people who hate the NBA, Why do you hate the NBA?

  • I've noticed that in high school, kids start to hate the NBA more and more. The only reasons I hear from the people who hate the NBA are... 1. "They don't play Defense" -For the people who say this, I personally think a game is more fun when you see offensive plays but in the NBA, players actually do play defense. When they give up on a play, it's because they know that they either can't catch the player in front of them, or they are an older player and do not want to get injured or cause an injury to the other person. You wonder why the NBA players score more than college basketball? It's because it's a professional league. Everyone is good. Your NBA bench warmers are considered starters in college. That's actually saying something. In college basketball, most teams do play full court defense while in the NBA they don't. That's because in college, your bench players can carry you both defensively and offensively. That gives the starters and opportunity to rest to prepare for another round of full court defense and pressure while your bench players are still scoring. In the NBA, you tend to only have one bench player (6th Man) who can carry your team both defensively and offensively. The rest of the Bench can carry you defensively but not offensively. 2. "All NBA teams do is stack up their teams with superstars" -Some people say that didn't happen back in the day. Yes it has. The bulls had 2 hall of famers on their team. Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen and look how many championships they've won. What about the Lakers. They had Shaq, Kobe, and a stacked Bench unit. The Celtics had Larry Bird, Kevin Mchale, Dennis Johnson, Danny Ainge, and another stacked second unit. I can list multiple teams that have stacked themselves back in the old days. The reason they do that is because the NBA is a business. They have the money to do it. Why do you think the playoff runs are so predictable. It's because teams have the money to sign players. What about in college? Teams are so predictable. Why do you think people have Brackets for March Madness? The teams you normally see are UNC, Duke, UConn, Kentucky, etc. These college teams are stacked as well. That's because they have $$$MONEY$$$ and put much of their money into certain athletics as opposed to education. Do you ever see people cheering for Harvard, Stanford, Princeton, etc? That's because these teams put their money into education. Like I said in the previous section, the NBA doesn't have a decent players but they have superstars in there starting line ups. In college, they have Superstars in their bench and starting line up. 3. "The NBA is full of thugs" -That's just a racist stereotype/gereralization that most non-black people say. Yes, Basketball is the "Blackest" sport there is. In the NBA, a majority of players are black. But that doesn't mean they're thugs. When people say thug, they go to Kobe Bryant, Ron Artest, Ben Wallace. What about in the NFL? Ray Lewis, Ray Caruth, etc. Kobe was accused of Rape when in actuality it was cheating on his spouse. Ron Artest and Ben Wallace started the big brawl in Detroit "Malace at the Palace". Ray Lewis and Ray Caruth were both accused of Murder, fortunately Ray Lewis was not convicted but did serve probation. Ray Caruth was convicted and is now currently in Prison. Many people think there are a lot of fights in the NBA because it is called so strictly now. Players get ejected and technicals for pushing, hitting, getting in someones face, etc. In the NFL, theres multiple fights in just one game. It's just not called so strictly because there are too many players to control at once. All that's called is a penalty. Same with Hockey. That's a predominantly white sport yet theres a fight at least once a game. In the NBA, there is probably a tangle up every game but it's not major like a fight. Also, in not only the MLB but Baseball, it is a generalization that people take steroids which leads up to roid rage and other mental issues however I don't hear people say they hate the MLB because people take steroids. I hear that people think it's boring. ***I know this was very long but I wanted to make a point about the NBA. I hate those people who hate the league not the sport. I know even NBA fans disagree with me on this but I respect the WNBA because I enjoy basketball. I love basketball and will love it my whole life. I may not watch the NBA but that's because it's never on national TV. If it is, I will watch it.*** So tell me why you hate the NBA, there are more things that I hear but those are the top 3 things I hear the most.

  • Answer:

For me, it's David Stern. He has taken the game away from average Americans with $75 tickets. He has thrown white American players out, and replaced them with foreign players in order to sell to foreign audiences. He has promoted an urban culture in the NBA that demeans many blacks, as well as others. The power of his NBA money has wrecked college and even high school ball. For every 19 year old who makes it, five fail with nothing to fall back on. He has promoted superstars who get away with murder on the court. He has turned games into ridiculous spectacles that increasingly have less to do with basketball. Need more ? Let me know.

Question Guy

I hear a lot of the same things about the NFL being full of thugs and teams like greenbay, steelers, etc having stacked rosters. In my opinion basketball isn't for everyone and I suppose some people feel so intimidated by sports that they have a fear of even watching sports events so they make up lame excuses like the NBA doesn't play defense. These people are usually the same people who watch big muscled oily men in tiny pink man thongs hugging each other and call it "manly" when in reality we all know its fake and scripted so there is no chance of injury whatsoever and it is not manly in any way whatsoever.
