How can I improve the grip on my shoes?

How can i give my shoes grip on the bottom using household items?

  • i am trying to give an old pair of air jordan basketball shoes grip on the bottom again. i scrubed the bottom of the shoes with a toothbrush trying to remove all rocks and dirt, and i sprayed them with surface cleaner and rinsed them off again to try to remove all dirt..what can i do to my shoes to give them grip again like they were when i first bought them?

  • Answer:

duct tape. it adds just enough friction to give good traction, especially if you take a safety pin and scratch a bunch of grooves and crosscrosses in it. it'll come off eventually, but in the meantime it really works.

Try wiping the bottom of your shoes with baby wipes, and after that spray hairspray on the bottom ,this causes friction and more grip.

try some hair spray or go outside and rub the souls of the shoes on the pavement to roughin them up a bit.

If the bottom of your shoes are clean, use rubbing alcohol. That's what my basketball team used to use on a little towel in front of the scorers table. Normal alcohol, that should do the trick.
